| Cured
In Place Pipe (CIPP) is an alternative to complete renewal
of pipe work. A resin impregnated sleeve is introduced into
the section of drain and inflated, either with air or water,
so that it is in contact with the existing, damaged drain.
It is then cured in place, either with hot water, UV light,
or in some cases just through ambient temperatures. The
result is a durable “pipe within a pipe” that
has similar structural strength to the original pipe.
This technique is particularly appropriate for repairing
drains under buildings or other structures where traditional
methods of excavation are not possible or would cause considerable
disruption to other operations. Examples would include drains
under conservatories, private drains leading to deep main
sewers in roadways and industrial process drains where excavation
could adversely impact operations.
CIPP can be used in drains and pipes of diameters ranging
from 100mm
to + 500mm |
